Digital Photography & Manipulation

This is a small gallery of some my best digital photographs. I also included an example of extreme digital restoration using Adobe Photoshop tools. Once you learn photography and composition techniques, you never really view the world in the same way again. I see new photo opportunities everywhere I look now.

  • Street Musician Photo.

Musicman - This image won the Students' Choice Award in my Summer digital photography course. I took this photo of a street musician in a park near dusk. Retouched in Adobe Photoshop.

  • Ducks photo.

Fieldtrip - This humorous photo was taken during a morning field trip at a local lake. It's all about being in the right place at the right time. Enhanced in Photoshop.

  • Grasping dried fern photo.

Grasping - I caught the sunset just right on this dried fern. Using depth of field settings I created a really eerie mood in this composition. Enhanced in Photoshop.

  • Photo Restoration.

TinType Restoration - I found a very tiny antique tin-type photo plate in an antique store. I could not resist the challenge of scanning and restoring the image from the small, 1-inch, corroded metal plate. Here is a before and after shot to demonstrate Adobe Photoshop techniques.
