IU Southeast

I have been a front-end Web designer and developer for Indiana University for the past 5 years working part-time while I finished my drawing degree at IU Southeast. I have worn many hats while working for this organization. I created graphics as a designer, wrote HTML & CSS, and developed in Cold Fusion, PHP, and Javascript – sometimes in the same day. As one of the legacy web developers at the university, I was heavily involved in the transition from table-based layouts in Coldfusion to standards compliant HTML, in an enterprise Content Management System, Hannon Hill’s Cascade WCMS. I am the primary trainer for Cascade across campus, teaching faculty, students, and staff alike to edit and publish Web content. I created the first mobile-friendly email templates used for Campaign Monitor and Talisma. My email templates have been used as training tools for other campuses. I also developed the current testing standards for usability and accessibility compliance on campus and took charge of all website testing. I was charged with evaluating checklists and web standards testing software.
